How to Create a New Anchor in Vault PromoMats and Medical?

Answer:

Annotate and Create Anchors permission is needed.

A user can create new anchors on the document to be used as a Reference or from the Promotional document while creating new links or editing existing links to the Reference. These anchors are available for use in any future links and remain even if the original link is deleted. 

 

Create a new anchor on the Reference document

  1. Open the document to be used as a Reference on other documents.
  2. On this Reference document, click the Select tool button and choose Anchor.

  3. Select text or an area as the anchor location that will serve as a reference.
  4. A grey annotation box comes up. Enter an Anchor Name, up to 140 characters. This name helps identify the anchor when linking the Reference to other documents. Click Save.

  5. To use the anchor as a reference, go to the Promotional document to be referenced and create a link.

 

Create a new anchor from the Promotional document

  1. Open the Promotional document to be referenced.
  2. Click the Select tool button and choose Link.

  3. To create a new link, select text or an area to be referenced, or find an existing link annotation and click the link icon button.
  4. The Select Anchors dialogue box pops up. Find the reference document using filters, views, and search terms as needed.
  5. When the reference document is found, click Select or create new anchor in this document. The target document pops up in a mini-browser window.

  6. Within the reference document, select text or an area as the anchor location.
  7. A grey annotation box comes up. Enter an Anchor Name, up to 140 characters. Click Save.

  8. Close the window. Make sure the new anchor is added before closing the Select Anchors dialogue box.

Note: Anchors should only be added to a document after this is created in Vault PromoMats.
