Overview:
While users can filter on the Study, Study Country, and Study Site fields individually in the Library, the hierarchical filter option below is not appearing for users in an eTMF Vault.
Root Cause:
Hierarchical filters, including the Study, Study Country, Site Hierarchical filter, only appear as an option if the relationships are linear. If the document field configuration includes a field that references an object that is an additional child object to either of the Parent objects, then the relationships are no longer linear. In this case, the hierarchical filter no longer appears as an option.
Solution:
For the Study, Study Country, and Site hierarchical filter to appear, the field that references the 2nd child object to the Study or Study Country objects needs to be removed. Otherwise, the Study, Study Country, and Site fields need to be filtered on individually.
