Question:
A user wants to access the document using a link outside of Vault. The Vault login page appears when clicking the link, even though the user already logged in. Why does the login page appear?
Answer:
The problem may occur for several reasons:
- The user uses two different browsers. EXAMPLE: The user logs into Vault using Chrome but accesses the document link using Firefox. The session is not shared between two different browsers. If the user Logs in using Chrome, Firefox does not recognize the login.
- The user has multiple Vault account and logs in to one of them. That second Vault may not be the Vault that contains the document. The session is different as Vault is different even though it is the same user.
- When embedding a hyperlink to a Confluence page in Microsoft® Office and clicking on it, two browser tabs are opened: one with the intended page and one with the login page. This is an intermittent conflict within the Microsoft® Office suite in Windows. Mac OS does not have this issue.
