Question:
What happens in Align when a new geography object is added or removed in a release?
Answer:
When a new zip code or map shape is added in a release, it is added to a backend database outside of Vault.
When a Country's status changes from Inactive to Active, all of the zip codes that are currently in the backend Geography table for that Country are imported into Geography object in Align. Other than this case, changes in the backend Geography table are not automatically imported into the vault's Geography objects.
If a new Geography is added for a Country that is already active in Align, no new Geography records are automatically created in the Vault.
When a Geography is retired for a Country that is already active in Align, no Geography records are automatically removed or deactivated.
To refresh Geographies to match the current database, deactivating and reactivating the Country will import new Geographies.
