Question:
How to find configured Approved Email sending domains in Veeva CRM?
Answer:
Approved Email sending domains can be configured as defaults for all Approved Email in an Org, as the default for Approved Email for users in a specific Profile, or on individual Email Templates.
Approved Email Sending Domains at the Custom Settings Level
Default Approved Email sending domains can be configured by navigating to: Setup --> Custom Settings --> Approved Email Settings --> Manage --> Approved Email Domain.
The default Approved Email domain can be set at the Org level, or in Profile-specific Approved Email Settings. Both options are available in the Approved Email Settings under Custom Settings.
When sending Approved Email from Veeva CRM, the default sending domain for the Org or for the user's Profile will be used to send email, unless a sending domain is specified on the Email Template being used.
Approved Email Sending Domains at the Email Template Level
Sending domains can be also configured at the Email Template level, in the Email Domain field.
The Email Domain must be set on the Email Template in Vault; the domain choice then populates from Vault to CRM during Vault document sync.
If a sending domain is set on an Email Template, this choice overrides the default Approved Email Domain from Approved Email Settings when sending email from that template.
Checking the Sending Domain Used on a Sent Email
To check what sending domain was used for a particular Sent Email record (Sent_Email_vod__c), users with appropriate permissions can view the Email_Config_Values_vod__c field on the Sent Email record.
This field contains information on the specific Sent Email, including the From Address, From Name, Reply To Address, Reply To Name, Subject, and Email Domain.
If this field is not displayed on the Page Layout, users may need to use Workbench or Salesforce Inspector to view the value in the Email_Config_Values_vod__c field.
Viewing the Default Approved Email Domain for the Org in the Approved Email Administration Tab
The Approved Email Administration tab provides multiple sources of information regarding Approved Email. Included in this is the Email Domain Status section. The Email Domain listed in this section defaults to the default Approved Email admin for the Org. By clicking Check Status, customers can view the DNS information that is set up for the domain, as well as whether the DNS records read as valid and matching the expected values.
