The purpose of this article is to provide some known causes to Assignment Preview and Assignment Commit stopping which occur regularly.
Answer:
The Assignment Preview may stop due to the following reasons, which are due to data issues or misconfiguration:
- In the Align instance, there are Targeting Rule Channels missing the MC Cycle Channels. In this case, these Targeting Rule channels, related Account Rule Criteria, Account Rules have to be removed.
- The Align Integration User credentials are invalid. Reenter the Align Integration User credentials.
- The Channel Object is not populated on the MC Cycle Channel records. Be sure to populate them.
The Assignment Commit may stop due to data issues or misconfiguration:
- In the Align instance, there are mismatching MCCP related records.

- The Channel Object is not populated on the MC Cycle Channel records. Be sure to populate them.
- There is a Production (Live) and Modeling Mismatch in an MC Cycle.
Example: The MC Cycle is associated to a Production (Live) Field Force, while it has Modeling Territories associated to its MCCPs. There can be other mismatching scenarios. Be sure these lookups are populated and they are in sync. There should be Modeling Territories with a Modeling Field Force, a Production (Live) Field Force, with Production (Live Territories).
A potential issue may be that the Align instance is not managed. All Align instances are required to be managed.
