Why a User Cannot Add Documents into the Related Document Section of an Object in Vault?

Question:

A checkbox is grayed out and cannot be selected when a user tries to add the documents to the Related Document Section in the Object. What is the root cause of this issue?

Answer:

This is because the user does not have the Edit Fields Permission on the documents.

Since the Related Document section in the Object references the document field, the user can only add documents on which the user has the Edit Fields permission.
