Problem:
A document is showing highlighted changes to document contents where no changes occurred in the Version History Compare Version Tool
Root Cause:
This issue is not caused by Vault. Instead, this is due to different document versions being edited across different versions of a Microsoft Office Application, prior to being uploaded to Vault. Different versions of Microsoft Office appear to save document content differently.
Solution:
It is recommended to download the source files for the versions being compared, saving the files with the same version of Microsoft Office, and reuploading to Vault. This will ensure that both documents are created using the same version of Office Application and should compare as expected.
