Accessing the Configuration of the Object from the Object Record
This navigational trick is applied to any object records.
Consider the following Object Record. Click on All Actions (...) and then click on Configure Layout.
This opens the Page Layout.
Clicking on the Object name leads straight to the Object Configuration page. From here, in Details the Object itself can be identified.
25R2 GR: CTRL-F Browser Search Works on the Doc Info Page
Before 25R2 GR (General Release), on a Document Info Page, if an end user pressed CTRL-F that would open up the Search bar inside the Document Viewer. This is no longer the case after 25R2 GR.
In the event the end user clicks inside the Document Viewer and presses CTRL-F, the Search icon will appear inside the Document Viewer.
In case, the end user clicks outside of the red area in the Document Info page, the Search feature of the Webbrowser opens up instead. This can be very useful to search fields on the Header Area.
The Audit Trail Page of the Document is respected as well and CTRL-F searching is still possible among the Audit Trail entries.
Accessing Vault Information from the User Profile
Click on the User Profile Icon. Click on About this Vault.
Clicking this item opens up the Vault Information:
This can be useful if the end user has no access to Admin.
Viewing the Exact Vault Build
Navigate to Admin -> About -> Vault Information. Hover on the value of the Vault Version.
This page shows the Vault Build versions. This can be useful for verifying Vault versions.
How to Locate the Vault Record ID, Direct URL of a Record, Document or a Component in Veeva Vault?
See the following Knowledge Article for the details.
Vault Loader Success Files or Failures may be Loaded Again
In the event a Vault Loader job has success and failure csv files, these csv files can be loaded again without changing the content of the files themselves or on the field mapping. This can be very useful for troubleshooting or fixing Object Record, Document related issues.
Using Business Admin and Record Identifiers to Access Record Lists
Consider the following Object Record:
https://supportvaults-zv-test-sandbox-actions.veevavault.com/ui/#v/V69/V69000000001001
The link indicates this record was opened from Business Admin. However in the event the record is opened from a tab on the Vault ID, the Record ID will be the same: V69000000001001
The first three letters identify the Object. This means if the goal was to find all of the records for this particular object, the following link could be used:
https://supportvaults-zv-test-sandbox-actions.veevavault.com/ui/#v/V69/all?fcah=&ivp=1
This can be useful information to identify Object Plural names, all records more effectively. This tip can be used together with the tip described in Accessing the Configuration of the Object from the Object Record.
Intermediate tip: Link Reference for Action Layouts to access Steady State Documents
In the event Help Controls are used on Action Layouts, it is possible to add a link suffix to refer to Latest Steady State Document version. The Suffix is ?state_type=steady_state__v
This suffix needs to be added after Document URL. It will ensure that the end users access the latest Steady State version of the document.
Breadcrumbs navigation, Additional Information Display
Hovering over the Object Record Breadcrumbs may result in displaying additional information about the parent record. The fields will display if the Display in default lists and hovercards field setting is enabled. If this field setting is not enabled, the field values will not display.
