Overview:
Vault rendition alters characters in RTF file after uploading to Vault.
Root Cause:
Vault swaps non-standard fonts to standard fonts if they are not embedded in the document.
Example: "/" is replaced by "¥"
Solution:
There are two possible options to resolve this issue:
1. Embed the fonts into the Source File in Microsoft Word. This can be accomplished via File>Options>Save and then enabling the Embed fonts in the file checkbox:
After enabling this option, save the file and re-upload to Vault and the document should render properly.
2. Disabling the Convert backslash characters into yen signs Microsoft Word setting. This can be accomplished via File>Options>Advanced>Layout options section.
After unchecking the Convert backslash characters into yen signs checkbox, save the file and re-upload to Vault and the document should render properly.
