Why does an inactive Key Message not prevent a presentation from displaying in CRM iRep?

Answer:

For an inactive Key Message, Active_vod__c is set as false, but this does not prevent the relevant presentation from displaying. Only relevant slides are not displayed.

CLM (Closed Loop Marketing) hides any presentation where any of the key messages (slides) in it is not properly configured. The whole presentation is hidden to prevent it from being shown if it is incomplete or missing information.

Inactive key messages in a presentation do not specifically make the presentation go away, as that is a proper configuration. But if there is a VMobile Object Configuration (VMOC) which stops syncing over inactive key messages records, when the record stops syncing over, this makes the presentation have a poor configuration and then hides the entire presentation.

A Best Practice is for the customers to have a process to remove all inactive key messages from a presentation, so that the presentations do not get hidden unexpectedly.
