Error: java.lang.NullPointerException - When Running a Veeva CRM MCCP Job

Question:

MCCP Scheduled job does not run and returns the error:  java.lang.NullPointerException.

Answer:

There are several causes for the issue, mostly related to bad data load, the most common being:

  • A MC_Cycle_vod record does not have a defined value for the fields Start_Date_vod or End_Date_vod.
  • A MC_Cycle_Channel_vod record does not have a value for the field Channel_Object_vod.
  • The MCCP Admin is lacking access to one of the above-mentioned fields.
