How do Goals Get Rolled up in Case of the Veeva CRM MCCP Goal Editing and Veeva Align Targeting/Feedback Functionalities?

Question:

How do Goals Get Rolled up in the case of the Veeva CRM MCCP Goal editing and Veeva Align Targeting/Feedback Functionalities? What is the difference between them? Are higher MCCP levels get updated?

Answer:

By higher MCCP Levels, MC Cycle Plan Target and MC Cycle Plan records are meant based on the relationship among the MCCP-related objects. See Veeva CRM MCCP Data Model Diagram.

Regarding the exact details of the Veeva Align Targeting/Feedback Functionality be sure to see: 

The Assignment Preview/Assignment Commit or the Recalculate Territory Data actions in Veeva Align do update all Channel Activity Goals, Channel Interaction Goals, Product Activity Goals, and Product Interaction Goals respectively for all MCCP levels - MC Cycle Plan Product, MC Cycle Plan Channel, MC Cycle Plan Target and MC Cycle Plan. The Weights of the MC Cycle Channel and/or MC Cycle Product are considered for the MC Cycle Plan Channels and/or MC Cycle Plan Products.

Reminder #1: The Activity Goal x Weight = Interaction Goal.
Reminder #2:  Product Interaction Goal on the MC Cycle Plan Channel record = The sum of all Product Interaction Goals of all of its child MC Cycle Plan Product records.

The CRM Goal Editing functionality does update the Channel Activity Goals (Channel Interaction Goals), Product Activity Goals (Product Interaction Goals), of MC Cycle Plan  Channels and MC Cycle Plan Products by the MCCP Admin job, however, the Goals of the higher MCCP levels - MC Cycle Plan Target, MC Cycle Plan - are not modified. The Weights of the MC Cycle Channel and/or MC Cycle Product are considered for the MC Cycle Plan Channels and/or MC Cycle Plan Products.

Notes:
  • In the event, MC Cycle Products are not in use, MC Cycle Plan Products and in turn, their Goals are not relevant in the case of both functionalities.
  • Using CRM Goal Editing and the Feedback Process cannot be used together.
