How to Remove MC Cycle and Associated Data in Veeva Align?
Answer:
The purpose of this article is to provide guidance as to how to remove an MC Cycle and all of its associated data.
Supposing an MC Cycle exists in Veeva Align with a Targeting Rule. This scenario is applied to the Production ("Live") and the Modeling environment.
Based on the Targeting Entity Relationship Diagram from Data Model:
The first set of steps is to extract data in the following order:
- Extract the Multichannel Cycle Plans (MCCPs) belonging to the MC Cycle.
- Extract the MCCP Targets belonging to the MCCPs.
- Extract the MCCP Channels belonging to the MCCP Targets.
- Extract the MCCP Products belonging to the MCCP Channels.
- Extract the MC Cycle Products belonging to the MC Cycle.
- Extract the MC Cycle Channels belonging to the MC Cycle.
- Extract the Targeting Rule Products belonging to the MC Cycle Products.
- Extract the Targeting Rule Channels belonging to the MC Cycle Channels.
- Extract the (Model) Account Rule Criteria belonging to the Targeting Rule Channels or Targeting Rule Products.
- Extract the Account Rule (This is the Targeting Rule record) belonging to the MC Cycle.
The next set of steps is to delete child records in the following order:
- Remove the MCCP Products belonging to the MCCP Channels.
- Remove the MCCP Channels belonging to the MCCP Targets.
- Remove the MCCP Targets belonging to the MCCPs.
- Remove the Multichannel Cycle Plans (MCCPs) belonging to the MC Cycle.
- Remove the Targeting Rule Products belonging to the MC Cycle Products.
- Remove the Targeting Rule Channels belonging to the MC Cycle Channels.
- Remove the (Model) Account Rule Criteria belonging to the Targeting Rule Channels or Targeting Rule Products.
- Remove the MC Cycle Products belonging to the MC Cycle.
- Remove the MC Cycle Channels belonging to the MC Cycle.
- Remove the Account Rule (This is the Targeting Rule record) belonging to the MC Cycle.
- Remove the MC Cycle.
Notes:
- Removing MC Cycle data in Veeva Align is not recommended. Deletion should only be carried out if deemed necessary. For example, the concerned MC Cycle was created by a mistake.
- It is recommended to use Vault Loader for these tasks.
- There are other ways or methodologies to extract the data. It is possible to use vlookup in Microsoft Excel, or any SQL options to work with the data.
- The MC Cycle and its associated data are hard deleted in Veeva Align.
